Locations

We have two locations to serve you. Retreat Hill Winery & Vineyards is located in the rolling hills of southern Grimes County, Texas, about 60 miles N.W. of downtown Houston. Our name was inspired by Groce's Retreat, which was located about 2.5 miles from our location. The Texas Declaration of Independence was authored at Groce's Retreat and later ratified at Washington-On-The-Brazos on March 02, 1836. Between March 18 and March 21, 1836, Groce's Retreat served as the capital of the Republic of Texas.

Retreat Hill Cellars is located at 211 Liberty Street (SH 149, one block north of SH 105) in the oldest building in downtown Montgomery, Texas, birthplace of the Texas flag. This magnificent building was built in 1906 and was one of the first, "State" banks in Texas. The old vault is still in the building but the safe is long gone. We are going to make small batches of wine in the vault and perhaps prepare an intimate table setting for two or four people for a very unique dining experience. We also have a plenty of parking at 210 Pond Street, adjacent to the winery storage, barrel aging and bottling plant.
